Mira is FBMI’s agriculture and food enterprise, created to turn Afghanistan’s natural produce into sustainable income for the farmers who grow it. Working with farmers and producers across Afghanistan, Mira offers saffron, dried fruits, nuts and other produce, handpicked and prepared with care before reaching customers in the UAE and beyond. Sales are reinvested into FBMI’s wider work, helping support the communities behind every harvest.
At the heart of Mira is the belief that agriculture can create greater independence for farmers and their families. By creating market access for Afghan-grown produce and supporting responsible farming practices, Mira helps turn traditional harvests into income, stability and long-term opportunity. Mira also helps keep Afghanistan’s farming traditions active, supporting techniques and agricultural knowledge passed down through generations rather than replacing them.
Mira’s model is now expanding beyond Afghanistan, with a new cashew cultivation and processing facility underway in Tanzania. The project will create local jobs, prioritise opportunities for women and extend Mira’s approach to responsible farming into a new region – showing how agriculture can support stronger communities wherever it grows.
