FBMI — Healthcare

Healthcare

Healthcare at FBMI starts with the people already part of the Initiative, and extends outward into some of Afghanistan’s most remote communities. From free treatment for employees and their families to mobile clinics reaching isolated regions, this pillar exists to make care available where it would otherwise be out of reach.

Free Healthcare, Close To Home

Every FBMI employee and their family receives free healthcare. Doctors carry out house visits once a month for registered families, running health checks, administering vaccinations and providing medical support.

FBMI medical staff also provide on-site health education and distribute essential supplies, including soap, PPE and basic medication. Where patients need further care, FBMI has secured agreements with local hospitals for referral, while ambulance and mobile health teams provide emergency support to the wider community.

By placing healthcare alongside employment and education, FBMI creates a more complete model of support: one where families are able not only to earn, but to access the care they need to live more safely and securely.

The Polio Mission

FBMI’s healthcare work plays an important role in the fight against polio in Afghanistan. Through clinics, mobile health teams and door-to-door immunisation campaigns, FBMI helps reach children in remote and hard-to-access communities who may otherwise be missed.

FBMI Healthcare operates 22 clinics and mobile health teams across 34 provinces, supporting health checks, maternal and child care, emergency response and vaccination programmes across 11 types of vaccine. To date, its healthcare services have reached more than two million people.

Through this work, Healthcare becomes more than treatment. It is prevention, protection and access, helping vulnerable communities receive care where and when they need it most.
